Braedstrup Waterworks has installed a UV disinfection system as an extra security against bacteriological contamination. The UV system is part of the waterworks' contingency plan and is started during planned maintenance.

UV light effectively limits microbiological growth in water such as bacteria, viruses, algae, and fungi. The UV treatment leaves no by-products and does not affect the taste or chemical quality of the water. The UV system is approved for drinking water and certified in accordance with UVDGM and DVGW.

Braedstrup Waterworks supplies 2,500 households, and with the UV system as part of the emergency plan, maximum operational reliability is ensured 24/7/365.
