Sustainable and energy-efficient waterworks

The Danish city Asserbo has got a new, state-of-the-art and fully automated waterworks. With a requirement for a sustainable and energy-efficient waterworks, only the absolute necessary energy is used to produce clean drinking water.

More than 1,500 households are supplied with clean drinking water from Asserbo Waterworks, half of which are holiday homes. To optimize the security of supply and the naturally large variation in the required water volume, the new waterworks uses two filter lines consisting of two closed pressure filters in each line. The two filter lines can operate separately or in series.

Frequency-controlled pumps on both the intake and pump-out lines further enable the water volume to be regulated according to consumption, which also helps to reduce energy consumption.
