Water and energy saving upgrade for existing RO plant at voestalpine Polynorm B.V.

One of Western Europe's major supplier of automotive body and structural parts, voestalpine Polynorm B.V., has upgraded their existing water treatment plant. Due to increased production capacity, increased supply of demineralized water for the rinsing basins was needed. In addition, it was required that the upgrade had to respect strict space constraints and no production downtime.

The solution included RO-PLUS, which is a series of RO units designed for a recovery rate up to 90% while compromising neither reliability nor water quality. The result is significantly reduced running costs due to lower water and power consumption. The solution was also designed with identical I/Os, so no changes were needed in the customers' control room and it took only a very short time to connect the new controls.

A break tank and booster pumps were necessary to ensure a safe and stable water supply, as the municipal water supply had insufficient water pressure. Finally, two demi-water tanks in polypropylene enabled the production to flush and refill the rinsing basins in a short amount of time.

EUROWATER in Holland has dimensioned, supplied, installed and commissioned the complete upgrade.
