As Jørgen Pors-Nielsen experienced it: “The support from Silhorko was impeccable – it has just been running along – a real textbook example. I will even say that this thoroughness I have not experienced before. It has given peace of mind in relation to further developments and operation.”
With the short payback period and large cost reduction on operations, no wonder that MEC and Jørgen are enthusiastic about the new solution.
The plant currently supplies 28 MW of electricity corresponding to the consumption in approximately 40,000 households, and 84-110 MW of district heating corresponding to the heat consumption in 16-22,000 detached houses.
BioHeat & Power is a combined heat and power plant that supplies district heating and electricity to households in two Danish municipalities. BioGas is one of the world's largest industrial biogas plants and was commissioned in 2012. Together they form the Maabjerg Energy Center (MEC).
Over time, the ambition is to have a comprehensive sustainable energy solution based on local and CO2-neutral raw materials using the latest technologies.
